About

Who I Am
I'm Clément Chalut, a Microengineering Master's student at EPFL. I've fabricated photonic chips in a cleanroom, designed RF receivers on 65 nm CMOS, and built a wireless fencing referee system from pitch to field testing. At Stérilux, a medical device startup making ozone sterilization systems, I went from assembling devices on the production line to managing the entire manufacturing operation in two years—two promotions by age 23.
I fly single-engine aircraft across the Alps with a Private Pilot License and 90+ hours logged. I spent three years as a volunteer firefighter with SDIS Vaud, responding to calls on nights and weekends alongside full-time studies. At 17, I played 1st Cornet in the «Concert Monstre» at the Philharmonie de Paris—600 brass musicians on one stage. I still teach trumpet on the side.
I'm most interested in work at the intersection of photonics, RF systems, and embedded product engineering—taking something from a lab bench to a shipping product.
